In Loving Memory of Ohannes Serorian
February 24, 1944 – June 3, 2022
Ohannes Serorian was born on February 24, 1944 in Beirut Lebanon. He is one of 6 siblings, 4 brothers and 1 sister. During his childhood he liked to paint and play music. He learned how to play the accordion and the organ. Ohannes graduated High School, Genatz Secondary School in 1963 in Lebanon. After his graduation, he left for Germany and went to Darmstadt Hochschool Engineering Mechanical and graduated in 1967 with a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering. After graduating in Germany, he worked for Linde Engineering.
Ohannes was ready to get married and start a family and he returned to Lebanon. He met the love of his life, Jacqueline Keklikian. They got married in July, 1970 in Beirut Lebanon. Soon after they got married, they moved to Germany. Ohannes then worked for Porsche Factory in the Engineering Department in Stuttgart. Ohannes and Jacqueline found their way back to Lebanon in 1972. They were blessed with a son, Ara and a daughter, Aline. Due to the civil war in Lebanon, the Serorian family moved to Los Angeles, California on Thanksgiving Day in 1981. From that point on, Ohannes worked with his two brothers at PolyPlex polyurethane factory as their mechanical engineer.
In 1999, Ohannes decided to venture out on his own and opened up his own shoe manufacturing company, Seroplast, until his retirement. He was proud of his two children. Ara has a successful career in the tech industry and in 2005, his daughter Aline married Sevag Saghdejian and blessed Ohannes with 3 grandsons, Shahe, Diran and Joseph. Ohanness enjoyed his retirement. He enjoyed making modifications to his home that he’s owned for over 35 years. Because he was an engineer, he was able to repair anything and everything without any help, he was your true handyman. When his wife Jacqueline retired in 2018, they traveled until Covid restricted them. Ohannes enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and 3 grandsons. He enjoyed art and music very much, as well as entertaining his guests. He passed away peacefully from natural causes on June 3, 2022.
He will be missed greatly.
In Loving Memory of Mr. Arman Akarakian
Mr. Akarkian is one of the three children of Khoren and Siranush Akarakian. He was born on June 12, 1930, in the Bera district of Constantinople. He received his education at Esayan School, Rumeli Hisar Robert American College, and Tri-State University in the US. In 1956, he received his degree in Electrical Engineering and worked at Ford Company. In 1959, Arman married Silva Fntlyan and had two sons, Grigor and Daniel.
Mr. Akarakian was a great believer, and he took his sons to church every Sunday. For over 50 years, Mr. Akarakian devoted his time to the St. James (Hakob) Church of Western Dioceses. He followed his dreams in the film industry, and with hard work and perseverance, the Akarakian family owns and manages multiple movie theaters. Mr. Akarakian's pride and joy were his two sons, four grandsons, and three grandchildren. He left this world after a short illness on January 21, 2022.
In Loving Memory of Ryan Manuel Karapetian
Ryan was born on May 23, 1980, at Providence St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, California. He was the youngest child among his nine cousins in a large, close-knit Armenian family. Ryan grew up in the Shadow Hills area, attended Village Christian Elementary, then moved to the Burbank school system, where his grandmother was living close by and teaching him the Armenian language after school. He chose to attend Notre Dame high school and played Notre Dame Mission League Football. Ryan was on the Scholastic Honor roll for three consecutive years and evolved with the high school student body. After graduating Santa Monica Collage with high-grades, he attended USC pursuing Journalism, however after a year he decided to change his major, and move to Northridge Cal State University and earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration option Real-estate.
Ryan’s first passion was his family, he loved his grandparents especially Satenik grandma who was always encouraging him to speak Armenian so he can find a very nice Armenian girl to marry. Football was his second passion; he played for 7 years in minor league and made many friends. Ryan was an accomplished guitar player, who with his friends established a rock and roll band and wrote 20 songs. He traveled with his parents extensively throughout the Europe and the Caribbean. His favorite destinations were Armenia and Italy. He was proud to be Armenian, and marched with his family members for April 24th Armenian Genocide commemoration many times.
Ryan loved to volunteer for many causes, such as Armenian International Medical Fund, Dream Center, and local churches. He was a Christian believer, which his gentle and kind manners towards everyone reflected. He loved animals, especially dogs. His friends were from all walks of life. His loyalty to his family and his friends was steadfast. Ryan is survived by his father; German, his mother; Roobina, his brother; Greg, his sister-in-law; Taline, and his two nephews;Christian and Daniel.
In loving memory of Janet & Vram Aslanian
You will forever be remembered.
Janet M. Aslanian was born in Iran on June 23, 1943. After completing her high school education, she married Vram Aslanian in 1964 and the couple moved to the United states shortly thereafter. She received a BS degree from CSULA and an MS degree from USC in Mathematics. She taught at various high schools and community colleges. Janet passed away on June 14, 2002.
Vram Vartan Aslanian was born in Iran on September 22, 1941. After receiving Heating and Air Conditioning Licenses from the International Correspondence Schools of London, he married Janet Aslanian and moved to United States in 1965. Vram began contracting in the building industry in the 1970’s and continued building for 40 years. Vram passed away on October 14, 2017
Janet and Vram are survived by their two sons and seven grandchildren.
In memory of his beloved Janet, Vram donated the seed money to begin the much successful Armenian International Medical Fund. The Aslanian Family have supported AIM for the past 15 years.

We are sad to report that Dr. Ohan Arteen Bedros passed away on February 2, 2021. He was born in 1931 in Basra, Iraq. Dr. Bedros received his Doctorate in Medicine from the Royal College of Medicine, served in Iraq’s military, and practiced at the Ministry of Health until 1964. Before immigrating to the United States in 1965, Dr. Bedros lived in England and specialized in problems of the ear, nose, and throat.
Dr. Bedros practiced medicine for over 40 years in the States, and was certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology. As a medical professional, he continued to assist Armenians abroad. During the First Nagorno Karabagh war, in the early 1990s, Dr. Bedros, helped treat the famous Armenian Commander Garo Kahkejian.
In retirement, Dr. Bedros enjoyed traveling. His greatest joy was spending time with his wife of 53 years, Artemis, and his family. He cherished his five grandsons and encouraged them to collect coins and stamps. He will be terribly missed!
Grigor Madikians was born in 1926 in Kharkoff, Russia. His family moved to Tehran, Iran in the mid 1930’s. He studied at the conservatory and became a proficient violinist who performed with the Tehran Symphony Orchestra. He helped create and manage the successful hotel and café Naderi in Tehran. Grigor passed away on May 5th, 1988 in Tehran and is survived by his wife Rita Madikians and his five children.
